Have you enjoyed the five-minute commute from your bed to your desk? Or does the prospect of eight hours of zoom calls fill you with dread? These were among the questions posed earlier this month when partner Tricia Patel took part in an International Women’s Day debate with RIBA and the Women in Architecture group. The Zoom event, chaired by Sumita Singha of Ecologic, focused on the pros and cons of working at home and featured a wide range of speakers, including Tanisha Raffiuddin, founder of branding and comms agency Concept Culture, Anna Schabel, director of Wilton Studio, Emma Rose Berry, partner at LDN Architects and Eirini Garoufalia, senior architect at Atkins as well as students Yuchen Pan and Megan Devlin.
Alongside her fellow speakers Tricia – who argued in favour of the office workplace - discussed how the pandemic has upended our work routines and made us think again about a range of matters from career progression and mental health to flexible working, parenting and care.
