Chelmsford Borough Council unanimously voted a resolution to grant planning permission last night for the Central Chelmsford scheme.
PTE's masterplan includes enhanced pedestrian and cycle links through a series of new streets and squares which will reintegrate the nearby transport hub with the town centre and Chelmsford Central Park to the South. The new public spaces will provide recreation for residents, workers and visitors and will be surrounded by shops, cafes, offices and a large food retail store, as well as 650 mixed tenure homes. They will also improve the setting for, and return to use, a number of significant historic buildings such as the Grade II listed former Quaker meeting house.
