Beechwood Village in Basildon has been shortlisted in the RIBA East Awards 2024.

To be shortlisted for two regional RIBA awards – for Dover Court Estate in London, and Beechwood Village in Essex - is fantastic news for our colleagues and clients.

And while these two projects have many differences - infill housing on a postwar London housing estate and custom-build homes in a Basildon suburb – together they showcase the people- and place-focused nature underpinning our residential design thinking.

At Basildon, we connected with prospective buyers – with new technologies, although the 250-home Beechwood Village picks up on local vernacular traditions too, like the long-since demolished custom build homes at Dunton Plotlands.

Residents used an ‘online configurator’ to select their plot, house type, the number of bedrooms, the internal spec as well as external material finishes from a selected palette of bricks, tiles and windows.
